Facts

Volleyball has developed into a very specialised sport. Most teams will include in their starting line-up a setter, two centre blockers, two receiver-hitters and a universal spiker. Only certain players will be involved with service reception. Players will also have specialist positions for attack and defence. Substitutions are allowed during the game.

A TRIBUTE TO ISMAIL COLLIER

Within the context of sport, Ismail Collier was a person of quiet demeanor, but very committed to the course he believed in,  on a principle  basis.

Within the apartheid years and sport isolation, and more so in the practice of non-racial sport ( no normal sport in an abnormal society), Ismail  played his  part  to ensure that  the sport liberation  struggle played its meaningful part in sport and in community  mobilization,  as important aspects  for the intended path  towards  “our” liberation.
