Matches are played best of five sets. The first four sets are played to 25 points, with the final set being played to 15 points. A team must win a set by two points. There is no ceiling, so a set continues until one of the teams gains a two-point advantage. Previously, all sets were to 15 points, with the first four sets having a ceiling of 17 and the final set requiring at least a two-point winning advantage.

KZN’s VIRGIN ACTIVE LIBERTE WIN GOLD AT ZONE 6 CHAMPIONSHIP

Generous funding from the KZN Department of Sport and Recreation made possible the staging of the African Zone 6 Club Championship for men and women at the Tongaat Sports Centre from December 8-13. The top two teams from Botswana, Swaziland, Lesotho and Zimbabwe locked horns with the South Africans for the two places available to Zone 6 for the African Club Championship scheduled for Blida, Algeria in March 2009. The Blida event is a qualifier for the World Championship which takes place in Japan at the end of 2009.

Harare Stars (Zimbabwe) and Cigma (SouthAfrica) were denied a place in tomorrow’s (December13) women’s final by Kutlwano and Mafolofolo (both from Botswana) at today’s semi-finals at the Tongaat Sports Centre.
